Driving the future of green energy, our hydrogen systems offer world-leading hydrogen production solutions.

Our advanced electrolysers ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective green hydrogen, accelerating the journey toward decarbonization in hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy haulage, shipping and refinery.

PEM Electrolysers

Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolysers convert water into pure hydrogen using electricity.

They deliver high-purity hydrogen, are highly efficient, and compatible with renewable energy, making them essential for green hydrogen production.

Gladstone PEM50 Project

The Gladstone PEM50 project, a 50 MW green hydrogen production plant, showcases Fortescue's technical expertise and commercial viability in hydrogen production systems, positioning the company as a global leader in manufacturing technology for industrial-scale green hydrogen applications.

Capable of producing up to 8,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually starting in 2025, PEM50 will utilise electrolyser stacks from Fortescue's GEF and renewable generation sources in Queensland. The project's modular, replicable build design incorporates off-the-shelf equipment and is adaptable across Fortescue Energy's portfolio, optimising on-site footprint while ensuring segregation of hazardous and non-hazardous areas.
